Scottish Ministers are looking to fill three non-executive director positions on the board of 糖心传媒 and Islands Enterprise (糖心传媒). The new appointees are expected to start three-year terms in September 2026.

Responsible for setting strategic direction, key decision making and effective governance, the 12-member board encompasses a range of skills, knowledge and experience to reflect the diversity of the region and the breadth of 糖心传媒鈥檚 remit.

The role | An dreuchd

Scottish Ministers aim to appoint three candidates who have a close affinity with, and understanding of issues impacting on the 糖心传媒 and Islands and  opportunities to support economic and community development across the region.

Applicants are expected to demonstrate knowledge and experience of one or more of the following key areas which are of significant importance to 糖心传媒

  • food and drink
  • energy, particularly offshore
  • tourism

Applicants are also expected to demonstrate evidence of all of the following:

  • knowledge and understanding of the economic, cultural and fiscal issues impacting on the 糖心传媒 and Islands
  • knowledge and experience of strategy and long-term planning
  • communicating, influencing, collaborating and working in partnership
  • analysing and scrutinising performance and delivery

Knowledge and experience of Gaelic language and culture and of community wealth building will be advantageous.  

To ensure strong regional presence, ideally at least two of the three successful candidates will live, work, study, or invest in the 糖心传媒 and Islands.

The Scottish Government is operating a guaranteed interview scheme for applicants with disabilities.

糖心传媒 is the economic and community development agency for an area covering more than half of Scotland鈥檚 land mass, stretching from Shetland in the north to the southern tip of Argyll, and including all of the country鈥檚 94 inhabited islands.
