Launched in partnership with the Scottish Government, B貌rd na G脿idhlig, VisitScotland and Skills Development Scotland, the project aims to build a detailed understanding of how Gaelic is used in day鈥憈o鈥慸ay activities.

Commissioned by 糖心传媒 and delivered by GC Insight with Reference Economics and Lasair Ltd, the research will gather comprehensive information from organisations currently using the language.

The research will identify where targeted investment can deliver the most benefit for Gaelic, its speakers and Gaelic鈥憇peaking communities. In addition, it will examine how regional and local development initiatives support the long鈥憈erm viability of the language and its role in Scotland鈥檚 broader economic and community development.

Organisations using Gaelic in their daily operations are encouraged to share their experiences to help inform future policy and investment decisions.

Joanna Peteranna, 糖心传媒鈥檚 director of area operations, emphasised the importance of this research. She said:

鈥淕aelic is an integral part of Scotland鈥檚 cultural identity and a valuable asset both economically and socially. This research will help us understand where support can make the biggest difference, especially in a resource-constrained environment. By identifying opportunities and barriers, we can ensure Gaelic continues to thrive while contributing to sustainable growth.鈥

Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes said:

"This new research will help us identify where investment in Gaelic can have the greatest impact to ensure the language thrives.

"The findings will also explore how we can use Gaelic to attract tourists and boost visitor spending in communities across Scotland.

"Our Scottish Languages Act gave Gaelic official status and we are backing this commitment with an extra 拢1.8 million for Gaelic initiatives in the draft Scottish Budget for 2026-27."
